Used oil re refining

 Used oil should not be discarded. Although gets dirty, used oil can be cleaned and purified for several times. Recycling used oil has some benefits e.g : saving the energy, protecting the environment and recycling the natural resources.

Since used oil contains too many contamination, including non-hydrocarbon, alkenes, polycyclic aromatic hydrocarbon, metal hydronium, impurities, metal particles and colloid etc, refining this oil is beneficial for the environment and more energy is saved.

The application of used oil distillation unit (thin film evaporation) is refining industrial waste oil (including equipment’s lubricants, metal-working and process oil) and automotive lubricants (such as engine oil, hydraulic oil and gear oil) to clean and reuse it. This technology is different from traditional sulfuric acid wash and atmospheric batch  distillation method. The residue of traditional distillation treatment technology is very harmful for environment, and the recycled oil from traditional process has odor, besides it is oxidized easily.

In our process we add a catalyst to used oil including gasoline, diesel and gas engine oil-whether mineral or synthetic- and then distill it under high vacuum to make high quality regenerated base oil without secondary pollution. This technology is highly automatic; the operation is easy, no complicate control process is needed.

Distillation includes physical separation of components of lubricating oil at its boiling point. Using vacuum, we can produce gas and gas oil at lower temperature and also distillate heavy oil without thermal cracking so the product has a high quality. When heavy lubricating oil is distilled under higher vacuum, perfect base oil will be produced.

Working principle:

This equipment adopts physicochemical actions to polymerize, neutralize, adsorb and eliminate impurities and harmful contaminants.

In this device, a new chemical alkaline complex catalyst is used, which restores and regenerates the oil residue in order to clean the oil and save its components.

Traditional distillation causes oil cracking and the produced oil will have a dark color and bad odor (due to reaction with oxygen), but our noble technology has eliminated all these disadvantages.

In our recent method all of these disadvantages are eliminated, as we use the alkaline complex catalyst in it.

Technical advantages:

 -low cost, it only needs a power supply and does not require any chemical additives

– Easy to operate, only one or two operator/s can control the unit.

– Environment friendly, without secondary pollution. The workspace is completely enclosed and no harmful gases are released, the remaining material such as colloid, bitumen and carbon are collected and later it can be used as fuel or asphalt.

– can recycle all kinds of oil including gasoline, diesel, engine, rubber and other lubricating oil.

– High recovery rate: base oil 83%~85%, gas and diesel oil 5~7%, oil sludge 3~6% (according to the degree of oil pollution)

 

– the most advanced treatment process which is suitable for large scale and mobile equipment. In addition it won’t change the color of recycled oil and won’t create any harmful gases( If there is no unsaturated component).

Transformer oil purification

Transformer oil purification: Transformer oil has the duty of cooling and insulating in it . The transformer’s efficiency and life time depend on its suitable maintenance. The oil quality is another important factor so controlling the oil condition is a good way to increase the transformer’s life time. As there is no need to replace the oil with the new one, We can decrease the costs too.

some conditions can result in oil deterioration e.g copper catalyst,iron filings,electric arc,moisture,oxygen with an increase in temperature are the main factors that decrease the oil quality and cause deterioration. Some of these problems are:

Increasing the acid number, moisture, dielectric dissipation factor and decreasing interfacial tension,electric strength (breakdown voltage),dielectric resistance,also the oil color gets blurry.

According to the problems mentioned above, we need an equipment called transformer oil purification machine. Niroonamad Khorasan has manufactured it in different capacities( from 500 to 20000) and different types(stationary, trailer,…) which can purify the oil even in situation that the transformer is on-load without any suspension . These machines also provide the ability to filtrate oil under vacuum circumstances as well.

Turbine oil purification system

 

 Over 85% of system’s failure results from its oil contamination. This problem can be eliminated by on time oil purification. This way we can reduce the costs of oil replacement and also increase the life time of machinery.

The additional costs are as a result of the following:

• Loss of production time due to the machine’s failure

• Compartments replacement

• Oil replacement

• Increase in maintenance costs

Niroonamad khorasan purification & filtration systems are able to remove different kinds of contamination such as water(solution & emulsion),gas (hydrogen,oxygen,carbon dioxide,carbon monoxide, methane,…), suspended solid particles and volatiles (Ammonia,alcohol,…) from the oil. It helps the oil reach to its NASS Standard.

Niroonamad khorasan systems are produced in different capacities from 500 to 12000L/H. They can be manufactured as portable or stationary.

Vacuum oil purifying and filtering systems of Niroonamad khorasan:

In common Turbine oil purifying systems, the oil is heated and evacuated (regarding that in rough pressures water is evaporated below 100ºc) then it is sprayed into a vacuum tank, this way free water and oil emulsion is evaporated and is sucked out by the vacuum pump.

For transformer oils, this process is done well because in these kinds of oils the moisture level is very low. But there are some points we should consider when applying this system for Turbine oils:

Because the system is closed, the air sucked out by the vacuum pump is at its saturation point so when it enters the vacuum pump, its moisture is condensed therefore contaminates the oil inside it. There are two strategies for overcoming this problem:

Using a condenser or water ring vacuum pump. Water ring vacuum pump has a system that needs a water tank and a water radiator and this may cause some difficulties for its commissioning (it’s not portable any more). In addition, these pumps can produce rough vacuum (maximum pressure equal to pressure at its saturation point.). Therefore the moisture existing in the oil cannot be decreased enough (and reach to the standard level). If using oil pumps, water trap and condenser are needed but even in this case some moisture contaminates the oil of the pump.

As a cheap and easy maintenance and also low expenses are very important characteristics for a device, pioneer companies in oil purifying industry have decided to increase the quality of the system considerably and decrease its expenses. So, regarding to this principle that air has different capacities for absorbing the moisture, our company has invented a system that can solve the problems above.

When oil that contains some moisture enters a system that is under a certain vacuum pressure, just a certain amount of it (moisture) is evaporated and is driven out by the vacuum pump. Now if we drive some dry air into the system in certain pressure and certain temperature, it tends to absorb the moisture exists in the tank as much as it can.

This way, the total volume of the air that is sucked into the vacuum pump from the vacuum tank is increased and the air in the pump is not at its saturation point any more. Because the air is not at its saturation point, the water exists in the oil of vacuum pump is not condensed so the oil life time will be increased several times.

The important points to consider are: how to produce dry air and also its entrance point to the vacuum chamber, how to contact the phases, how to create mass transfer area between this air and the oil that needs complicated psychometric measurements.

Electrostatic filtration

Electrostatic filtration : Designing and manufacturing of varnish removal plant using electrostatic filter(NN-EOF) and applying high technology of self controlled gradient field,Niroonamad khorasan is ready to cooperate with industries in order to increase the oil life time.

What is varnish?

Varnish is a layer that forms because of oxidation,high temperatures, moisture or any other physical /chemical reactions. The mentioned factors will cause the depletion of anti oxidant additives so the oil is exposed to oxidation. After oxidation free radicals combine and form yellow,light brown or dark brown substances called varnish.

The problems caused by varnish:

As varnish molecules are insoluble in mineral and synthetic oils, they deposit on internal surfaces of equipments or sealants and cause substantial problems:

1-Increase the wear rates of valve components,load gears and in some cases bearing surfaces.

2- Shorten the lubricant’s life by reacting with anti-oxidant system.

3- Increase maintenance costs due to cleanup and disposal of oil.

4- Decrease the effectiveness of heat exchangers, making it more difficult to control fluid temperature.

Electrostatic filters are classified into two groups:

1-plate electrostatic filters:

This system is composed of two plate electrodes . There are some rows of filter medias (2-5) between them. Using a current of 15 kv, these systems create an electric field that drives varnish toward the electrodes. In these systems, the electrodes need to be changed due to varnish deposit on them. In addition, the systems using this method , create arc in the oil and make it ionized. Applying this kind of filtering is not recommended at all because contamination may return to the oil from electrodes.

2-Cylindrical electrostatic filters:

This system whose technology belongs to USA and Japan, has been localized by Niroonamad Khorasan engineers. In this system,contamination deposit on a special media located in an electric field rather than their deposit on electrodes and it results in preventing arc and ionization. In addition , it is safe and efficient and doesn’t let the contamination return to the oil. It is a bypass system which is installed beside the oil tank. The varnish existing in lubricating system is dissolved in the oil gradually and collected by electrostatic filter. Due to this fact that just certain amount of varnish is dissolved in oil, if we pass the whole oil through the filter once, varnish which has deposited on internal surfaces of pipes, gets soluble and needs to be removed again. This must be repeated for several times (during a certain period of time e.g 1-6 months) till the system gets cleared of varnish.

 

That’s why electrostatic systems are used as an option (accessory ). It can be separated from the main purification unit. For getting assured of electrostatic system,first, the moisture and suspended particles of oil must be removed by a purification machine that is equipped with a magnet filter,dehydrate vacuum and a filter for particle removal and then an electrostatic filter must be used.

fuel filtration : Diesel fuel is a liquid fuel used in diesel engines.It is a mixture of hydrocarbons obtained by distillation of crude oil. Comparing with some other fuels, it is more efficient and economical but it is considered as more contaminated fuel due to some common contaminants found in today’s fuels including water,microorganisms,wax,hard particles,debris and other sediments. Diesel fuel problems will result in injector’s failure.Therefore it’s filtration is very important.

NN FF systems are produced in different capacities (50 to 400 liters per minute), and are suitable for different diesel fuel, motor jets, furnaces, boilers, heat exchangers and etc. The unit can be designed and manufactured as a remote control system with respect to the line operation conditions and fuel tank conditions in high capacities.
